Program Description
Vision
Our vision is to create a dynamic and united agricultural community where knowledge and experience are shared in a meaningful way.
Mission
AgriMentor’s mission is to provide various services and resources to support and prepare young farmers who are beginning their careers in the agricultural and agri-food industry. We also strive to promote peer-to-peer interactions and establish partnerships to amplify the impact of our services.
Objectives
Supporting a broad group of women aspiring to a career in agriculture, with the objective of promoting intergenerational knowledge transfer and preparing a new generation to take on leadership roles as many farmers approach retirement.
Supporting the professional and personal development of mentees in various areas, including leadership, time management, priority management, problem solving, strategic planning, effective communication, and much more.
Helping mentees clarify their objectives, leading them to consider different perspectives, while respecting their decision-making autonomy.
Offering mentees the opportunity to expand their professional network and address isolation by encouraging enriching connections.
Duration
The program is scheduled to last for a period of six (6) months, with one monthly meeting of up to one hour each. The first meetings will focus on making initial contact, setting goals, and arranging the timetable for future meetings.
At this point, it is crucial for the mentee and mentor to ensure the alignment of their objectives and the relevance of the mentor’s skills and expertise to the mentee’s needs.
